My roots
So I think it's time to introduce myself!I'm Valentina, I'm 15 years old(almost 16) and right now I'm studying as an exchange student in Finland from Spain.
I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. There I lived in a small house until my little sister was born, and then we moved to a big house. I lived in Uruguay for five years and I don't remember a lot of things but I remember, for example, my great-grandmother's house. She had a farm, where she had roosters, pigs... and I remember I used to help her with all the animals.
I've never come back to Uruguay but I would love to because I want to see my family again.
Otherwise, between 2000 and 2001, my family and I moved to Spain because my parents thought that my sister and I will probably have a better future there. First, we moved to Tarragona with my grandmother, where we lived almost 2 years. Then we moved to León, where I actually live.
A part of my family comes from Spain, because my father's great-great-grandparents are from Vigo, so I have roots from Spain too.
I think that I haven't been very affected by my roots and I don't think I'm very different than spanish people but I'm not different than uruguay people too, so I have like "mixed" roots.
For ending, I think my life would be very different if I would stay in Uruguay, because there is not a lot of chances for a great future. I'm very happy to live in Spain now, but sometimes I would love to come back to Uruguay.

Hi Valentina! So you're from uruguay but you're currently living in Spain? That's cool. Spain seems like a nice place to live in. Are you enjoying your time in Kaarina?
ReplyDeleteYes, I am!I think Kaarina is a really funny place with funny people!
DeleteIt really sounds exotic to us Finns to hear that you were born in Uruguay! I don't know anyone who would have visited your birth country! I suppose South America isn't on top of the list of most popular tourist destinations for Finns.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have family on two continents! So you will always have places to go to and people to meet in both countries.
Yes, it's the advantage of having family around the world!Thank you!
