My English Expierence

I started to learn English when I was six years old. I started in my school where I had a really great teacher that was always trying to make us have fun while we were learning. So, in this way I didn’t find it very hard and my teacher helped me with every doubt, and I always got high marks. Then I went to high school when I started to feel more interest in English because I thought that it was a good way to make a better future and I liked all the culture that has to be with England or United States, so I decided to learn more English. In this process, I started to listen to music, watch movies and TV programs in English, at first with subtitles but a few months later without them and it wasn’t that bad. I decided to learn English out of high school because the way to teach English is not good at all. Teachers do exactly the same things every year but they add a little more, so I preferred to study on my own. Another part of my English is that I have family living in United States, in North Carolina, New Jersey and New York and sometimes I talk with them in English to practice. I would like to improve because I want to study in United States so I want to have great English to be able to understand everything well. I would like to study to be a Lawyer and I think that there’s a very good education in the Universities of United States, and my family can help me finding a good University.

  1. Hello Valentina, judging by your blog post it is clear that you are very talented when it comes to learning the English language. I am sure that if you keep learning English and keep at it, you are guaranteed to study whatever it is you are interested in while in the United States. Choosing to do English further is a very wise idea what may prove very useful in the future.

  2. Hi Valentina,
I'm Nathan from Melbourne high school in Melbourne. I thoroughly enjoyed your short paragraph on your English journey - the process sounds like a fantastic experience. Your honesty in this piece is captivating, but what really caught my attention is the similar dream we both share. I also would like to become a lawyer and study abroad (America at Yale University) Keep up the good work and never stop writing.
    Nathan

  3. It's a small world, isn't it? Two young people with exactly the same dream suddenly bumping into each other like this! The Internet is a fascinating place. It's interesting to read that young people still think that learning English is the way for a better future. Somehow I thought you take English skills for granted these days. Good luck with fulfilling your dream of a lawyer's career in the US!

  7. Hi Valentina. You are doing GREAT!! Keep up the good work. By the looks of it, you are going at a good pace. If you keep going, you'll soon be ready to come to the US. When you do come, make sure to visit Florida. We have a lot to offer. I am a college student, pursuing a career in education. I'd like to be a science teacher one day. With my busy lifestyle of two jobs and college, I find time to fit in my schedule to go to the beach. Like I said, you'd love it here.
What school would you like to attend to become a lawyer here in the US? Have you looked into it?
